Jeffery Lavern Corkern, age 43
And a resident of Baton Rouge died at 5:30 pm Thursday June 26, 2008 in the Butterfly Wing of the Ollie Steele Burden Manor Hospice Hospital in Baton Rouge. He was a lifelong resident of Enon where he attended Enon Baptist Church for over 30 years. He worked alongside countless friends at the Washington Parish Activity Center in Franklinton for nearly 20 years. Jeffery loved country music, bowling, fishing, traveling and watching movies.

Mother: Rose Corkern of Baton Rouge
Sisters and Brothers-in-law: Phillis and Jon Van Boening of Bakersfield, CA Sybil and Eric Monday of Baton Rouge
Nephews: Jack and Hampton Monday
Many other aunts, uncles, cousins
Preceded in death by his father Lester Lavern Corkern, a brother Shannon Corkern, and grandparents Dolores and Joseph Coyne, and Ellen and Lester Corkern
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Monday June 30th from 6 pm until 9 pm and after 9:30 am Tuesday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 am Tuesday with Dr. Edmond Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Enon Baptist Church cemetery.
