Died Friday, June 7, 1991. He was 54, a native of Franklinton, and resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired LSU administrator. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., 9 a.m. to religious services at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted the Rev. George A. Haile. Graveside services at Ellis Cemetery , Franklinton, 2 p.m. Monday. Survived by wife, Gay Wood Wales, Baton Rouge; mother, Lois Tyler Wales, Franklinton; two daughters, Lydia Wales Jumonville, Dallas, Texas, and Donna Wales Martin, Baton Rouge; a son, Scott Lee Wales, Baton Rouge; three brothers, Byron Dunn Wales, Raceland, Robert Harold Wales, Kent, Wash., and James Tyler Wales, Denham Springs; and four grandchiildren, Brandon and Jason Jumonville, and Taylor and Tucker Martin.Preceded in death by father, Clifton Lee Wales Sr. He was a member of University Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Holy Angeles, 10450 Ellerbe Rd., Shreveport, 71106, and World Vision, Pasadena, Calif, 91131.

Born Oct. 17, 1914, in Pineville, she died at 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, at Riverside Medical Center, Franklinton. Visiting at Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel, 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Karl Tingle and the Rev. George Haile. Burial in Ellis Cemetery , Franklinton. She was a 1932 graduate of Amite High School in Amite and earned a bachelor's degree in 1941 from Southeastern LouisianaCollege, Hammond. She completed work on her Ph.D. at LSU in 1958. A resident of Franklinton, she taught in public schools in Washington and East Baton Rouge parishes for 25 years, in the LSU system for 10 years, retiring from LSU in Eunice as head of the math department and professor emeritus in June of 1977. Following her retirement she taught another 11 years in private schools in Tangipahoa and Washington parishes. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Franklinton, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and church pianist for 45 years. Survived by sons, daughters-in-law and a son-in-law, Byron and Helen Wales, Raceland, the Rev. George "Bub" and Gay Haile, Baton Rouge, Robert and Judy Wales, Kent, Wash., Sandy Chastain, Renton, Wash., and James and Jean Wales, Denham Springs; 11 grandchildren, Reid Wales, Augusta, Ga., Amy Wales, New York, N.Y., Lydia Jummonville, Dallas, Donna Martin, Suwanee, Ga., Scott Wales, Norcross, Ga., Suanne Reynolds, Kent, Patti Lande, Marysville, Wash., John Wales, Sumner, Wash., Carol Ann Morgan, Amite, Stephen Wales, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, and Kevin Wales, Baton Rouge; 11 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jason and Blake Jummonville, all of Dallas, Taylor, Tucker and Joshua Martin, all of Suwanee, Saman tha Reynolds, Kent, Rylie Wales, Sumner, Daniel and Rebecca Ann Morgan, Amite, and Michael Wales, Alaska; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton and Ruby Tyler, Denham Springs, Joe Ben and Cora Lee Tyler, Magalia, Calif., and Wilbert and Barbara Tyler, Grafton, Va.; and a sister, Janice Miller, Denham Springs. Preceded in death by parents, the Rev. Luther M. and Frances Alitha McKinney Tyler; husband of 40 years, Clifton L. Wales Sr.; a son, Clifton L. Wales Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Ashley Jummonville; two brothers, James Carroll and Jack Layton Tyler; and a sister, Evelyn Tyler.
