He was a resident of Franklinton, La passed away at his home. He was a native of Kansas and a former longtime resident of New Orleans where he served as vice-president of Federal Land Bank for 20 years before moving to Franklinton. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton where he was a member of the Merry Hearts and Senior Singers choir. He previously served as a Board member of Good Samaritan Living Center and was a member of the Franklinton Area Economic Development Foundation and the American Legion. He was a proud United States Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of the 444th B Squadron 320th Bomber Group and flew the B-26 Midrange Bomber during the European theater, in which he flew to completion 67 missions, each one a very precarious situation from take-off to landing. Following General Patton’s liberation of the Dachau concentration camp, He flew in and helped evacuate wounded POWs and other service men to Paris. He was preceded by his wife Helen Louise Waddell, his parents Hugh Ambrose Waddell and Virgie Mae Coleman Waddell, brother Kenneth and sisters Rosalie and Louise.

She was a resident of Franklinton, La passed away at her home. She was a native of Kansas but retired to this area nearly 30 years ago. She attended the Wichita Business School and enjoyed reading throughout her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton where she was a member of the Merry Hearts. She was involved with the Order of the Eastern Star and Waverly Club and was a proud member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She was a musical person who played the piano and often sang, but frequently enjoyed dancing with her loving husband. She was forever a caring wife, mother and grandmother. Her husband of 67 years was Keith Waddell. She was preceded by her parents Waldo Arthur and Jessie Ruth Weathers Heft and a brother Jack Heft.
