December 24, 1937 - June 17, 2008
LEON JOSEPH VESSIER, Jr., AGE 70
And a resident of Franklinton died at 9:30 PM Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at his residence.
He was an accountant in the sand and gravel industry for 36 years working with Green Brothers and Standard Gravel. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Survived by: Wife: Peggy Ryan Vessier of Franklinton, 3 Daughters and sons in law: Lisa and Charles Ackerman, Patty and Bruce Hunt all of Franklinton, Amy and Dr. Joseph George of Lake Charles, 3 Grandchildren: Jim Bourgeois, Jennifer B. McDaniel, Conor and Nathan Ackerman, Ryan and Lee Hunt, Will and Rebekah George, Great grandchild: Aubrey McDaniel
He was preceded in death by his parents Leon, Sr. and Pearl Sanders Vessier, a brother R.T. Vessier and 2 sisters Leona Brown and Eulalie McCain.
Visitation will be at Hillcrest Baptist Church from 6 PM until 8 PM Thursday, June 19, 2008 and after 9 AM Friday, June 20, 2008. A funeral service will be held at the church at 11 AM Friday, June 20, 2008 with Dr. Gene Richards officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellis Cemetery.
