SWETMAN, ZULA BANKSTON
Died Monday, Nov. 17, 1986, at her residence in Charleston, W. Va. She was 89, a native of Washington Parish. She was a retired elementary school teacher. Visiting at Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton, 9 a.m. Friday until religious services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. A.W. Robbins and the Rev. Jerry Barlow. Burial in Ellis Cemetery . Survived by a daughter, Dr. Mary Alice Skinner; two sisters, Theresa Powell and Marie Scoggins; three brothers, Jesse, Jake and Leo Bankston; and three grandchildren, Susan, George and John Skinner. Preceded in death by husband, George Swetman. Pallbearers will be Haley Carter, Phillip Garrett, Larry Seal, Dr. Cecil Bankston, Paul, Dale and Walter Bankston. She was a member of Highland Avenue Baptist Church. She was a nationally accredited flower show judge and active in flower and garden shows in Louisiana and West Virginia. She served as an officer in local chapters of Daughter's of the American Revolution and Delta Kappa Gamma National Teacher's sorority.
