Simmons, Othar Edgar. He was Mayor of Franklinton for six months before his death. A resident of Franklinton died Sunday at Hotel Dieu Hospital in New Orleans on Saturday. Interment was in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Maudie Lee Breland Simmons, two sons, three brothers and two sisters.

SIMMONS, MRS. MAUDIE LEE BRELAND

Died 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 1987, at Ochsner Foundation Hospital, New Orleans. She was 75, a native and resident of Franklinton. Visiting at Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton, 8 a.m. to religious services at 1 p.m. Monday, conducted by Dr. Jerry Barlow and Dr. A.W. Robbins. Burial in Ellis Cemetery , Franklinton. Survived by two sons, Dr. O. Errol Simmons, Madrid, Spain, and M. Reggie Simmons, Franklinton; four brothers, Emmett Breland, Herbert Breland, M.L. Breland and Ernie Breland, all of Bogalusa; a sister, Mrs. Vanda Jones, Bogalusa; and six grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Othar E. Simmons. She was a member of Franklinton First Baptist Church and WMU. Family request donations be made to Foreign Mission Board of Southern Baptist Convention or Lottie Moon Offering.
