Helen "Bettie" Cantrelle Simmons, Age 89
A former resident of Franklinton, Louisiana and a resident of Mandeville, Louisiana died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, Louisiana.

She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She was a U S Army veteran of WWII. She was a WAAC corporal.

Survived by: Husband Robert Howard Simmons of Mandeville, Sons Robert M Simmons of Ashburn, Virginia, James H Simmons of Marrero, Louisiana, Daughter Katherine E Simmons of Annandale, Virginia, Grandchildren James Simmons, Jean Pierre Simmons, Morgan Simmons, Andrew Simmons, Rachel Simmons, Sister Mary Louise Verdier, Lompoc, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents William H and Fannie Cushman Cantrelle, and brothers E W.Cantrelle and Albert Bingham Cantrelle.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home after 12 noon Thursday, June 18, 2009 with the funeral service to be held at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family prefers donations in her memory to Centenary United Methodist Church.
