Era Leader 6-29-1918
A sad accident happened in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Pierson at Pinecliff on last Thursday when a bottle of poison tablets were mistaken by little Eleanor, age 2, and eaten for candy.
The child became violently ill immediately after eating the tablets, but rallied several times after the physician reached the bed-side and applied the prescribed remedies, at one time she being considered entirely out of danger.
The little one was relieved of her sufferings by death during the night and on Friday the body was brought to the home of her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. H.W. Magee, where it was watched over by loving family friends, and after a
sweet comforting ceremony by pastor Kimberlin in the Baptist church on Saturday morning, was laid to rest in the Ellis Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Pierson and the entire Magee family have the deep sympathy of this community, little Eleanor being a great favorite in her grandfather's
home where most of life was spent.
