Private services for C Duane Cruse will be held at 10:00 PM, Saturday, October 8, 2005 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Jimmy Goodman and Rev. Keith Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Cross Roads Cemetery, west of Grayson.

Mr. Cruse was born in Enterprise, LA on September 22, 1934 to the union of Dema and Rita Smith Cruse and died Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia.

He was a retired banker. He was a graduate of Ruston High School and attended La. Tech University in Ruston. He was a Naval Reservist during the Korean Conflict and a member of the Old Bethel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Shelby D. Cruse.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years: Rachel Dunn Cruse of Grayson; his son and daughter-in-law: Michael Duane and Anna Cruse of Simpsonville, S.C.; his daughters and sons-in-law: Diane and Ricky Claunch of West Monroe and Sharon and John C. Franklin of Sterlington; his grandchildren: Kelly Claunch Benson, Chris Claunch, Emily Franklin Stewart, Ashley Franklin Bradley, Caleb Franklin, Brandon Cruse, Austin Cruse and Taylor Cruse; his great-granddaughter: Marley Kay Bryant and several sisters-in-law.

Pallbearers will be Chris Claunch, Brandon Cruse, Caleb Franklin, Travis Stewart, Ricky Claunch and John C. Franklin.

Honorary pallbearer is Raymond Broussard.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to ones favorite church or charity.

Mr. Cruse's family will receive friends at their residence at 136 Logwood Lane, Grayson after the services Saturday.
