Wife of Delos Johnson Magee
Mildred Burkhalter Magee, age 97 and a resident of Franklinton, died at 12:40 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2003, at Riverside Medical Center. She was the widow of Delos J. Magee. She was a member of First Baptist Church, The Pearl Johnson Sunday school class, Merry Hearts and the Quilters Club. Survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard G. and Alice Magee of Baton Rouge and Kenneth O. and Bettye Magee of Hammond; four grandchildren, Jennifer Evans, Ken Magee Jr., Richard Magee and Christy Smitherman; and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her son, Dale J. Magee; her parents, Henry O. and Minnie Magee Burkhalter; two brothers, Otis Burkhalter and Glenn Burkhalter; and three sisters, Bessie Brewer, Myrtle Lee Puckett and an infant. Visiting will be at Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon until religious service at 2 p.m. Sunday with Dr. Jerry Barlow and Ben Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Cemetery .
