IVA JANE BENNETT KNIGHT, AGE 98
And a resident of Franklinton died at 10:23 am Saturday July 19, 2014 at Ochsner Northshore Hospital in Slidell. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton who loved her pastors and church family very much. Iva was a former seamstress for Rutter Rex and later became self-employed for many years. She enjoyed working in her garden and tending to her plants every year. She was always a loving mother and grandmother to her large family.
Survived by:
3 Daughters and Sons in law: Margaret and Walt Smith of Franklinton, Jo Ann and Luc Van Muylem of California, Marilyn and Clarence Russell of Franklinton
2 Sons and a Daughter in law: William Pierce Knight and Katherine Knight, Joey Knight, Jr. all of Franklinton.
10 Grandchildren and Spouses: Kathy and Byron Rogers, Kaye and Mark Bott, Karen Mixon, Will and Kristi Knight, David J. Knight, Kelli and B.J. Brumfield, Brian Johnston, Emily Johnston, Melissa Russell and Sam Yoselevitz, Adam Lane Russell and Schantell Russell
3 Sisters: Loreen Aultman, Oma Phillips, Mary Bass all of Missisippi
2 Brothers: Howard Bennett of Foxworth, MS, Renee Bennett of Jackson, MS
Also numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-grandchild, and also a huge number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Meadie Knight, Sr., her parents Pierce Bennett and Mary Olive Broome Bennett, 2 sisters and 6 brothers, and a step-grandson Robbie Knight.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday July 22nd from 9 am until the funeral service at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Paul Watts and Rev. Dale Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Cemetery.
