Died 1:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 1986, at Riverside Medical Center, Franklinton. He was 81, a native of Dixon County, Tenn., and resident of Franklinton. He was a retired United Methodist minister.

Visting at Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton, 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday. Religious services at Centenary United Methodist Church, Franklinton, 3 p.m. Monday,conducted by the Rev. Willis Dear and Dr. W.D. Boddie and Dr. Stone Caraway. Burial in Ellis Cemetery , Franklinton.

Survived by wife, Cora Varnado Harris, Franklinton; a son, James T. Harris Jr., St. Petersburg, Fla; two daughters, Mrs. Shelley (Fran) Curry, Covington, Mrs. Frank (Judy) Harris, Oakdale; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was an active minister of the United Methodist Church from 1926 until his retirement in 1971. He held pastorates throughout Louisiana including Istrouma United Methodist Church. He served the Louisiana Council as District Supervisor for the Monroe District. Since his retirement he continued to serve as supply minister at several area churches.

Died 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 1990, at Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans. She was 86, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Franklinton.

Visiting at Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton, 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday. Religious services at the Centenary United Methodist Church, Franklinton, 1 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Willis Dear. Burial in Ellis Cemetery , Franklinton.

Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Shelly (Fran) Curry, Covington, and Mrs. Frank (Judy) Harris, New Orleans; a son, James T. Harris Jr., St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Stevie Pomorski, Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Catherine Richardson, Franklinton; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband, the Rev. Dr. James T. Harris Sr. She was active in youth work of the United Methodist Church, along with her husband at his pastorates throughout Louisiana. They served churches in Rayville, Rochelle, and the New Orleans area on three separate occasions; also Franklin, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, and Bogalusa. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Franklinton.
