Husband of Civila Pandora Runnels Greenlaw
L D Greenlaw, aged 70 years, who had served as Captain in the Confederate Army, a native of Virginia, formerly residing many years in Hazelhurst, Mississippi, and two years here, died Wednesday night, and was buried yesterday. Captain Greenlaw was a prominent man in civic and church affairs. His four sons, E R, of Ramsey, Louisiana; Dr J O, of this place, and Paul and Oscar, and his daughter, the wife of Rev J E Brakefield, of Bogalusa, Louisiana together with their mother, survive him. Rev S W Sibley his pastor and intimate friend, conducted religious services at his residence and the local Lodge of Masons buried the body in the cemetery with fraternal honors. The mercantile houses were closed during the funeral. Only a few days before his death he remarked to friends whom he met while on one of his sunshine walks that he felt he was slowly but surely approaching his end "in obedience to the Master's call."
