George Lewis Brown, Sr of Franklinton, Louisiana died after 8 pm Saturday November 23, 2013 at Riverside Medical Center. He was a 1937 graduate of Franklinton High School and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton. George was a veteran of the United States Navy where he was a Pharmacist during his 20 years spanning all of World War II and retired in 1958 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He continued to receive education upon his retirement and later became a science teacher in Franklinton. He retired as the guidance counselor of Franklinton High School and at one time was active in the Boy Scouts and later was a charter member of the National World War II Museum.

He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor Ruth Greenlaw Brown, his parents George Dickerson Brown and Frankie Bickham Brown, and his brother Earle R Brown, Sr.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday November 26th from 9 am until 11 am. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Ellis Cemetery.
