Jack Spears, 78 of Vivian, Louisiana passed away on February 21, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian, LA, officiated by Rev. Richard Beeman and Rev. Hart Clawson. Burial will follow at Chapelwood Memorial Cemetery in Vivian, LA. There will be a time of visitation from 1:00 PM until the time of service on Feb. 23rd at the funeral home.
Jack was born on July 17, 1939 in Foreman, Arkansas to Charles and Barbara Spears. He was a member of First Baptist Church Vivian. He worked as a medical technologist at North Caddo Medical Center for 30 years and previously worked for 12 years in Texas. He loved going to Arkansas for family church camp. He loved gospel music, Christian music, and Christmas music.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Woodrow “Sonny” Spears and C.B. Spears Jr, his sisters Augustine, Opal, Bennie, Ruby Nell and Alcyone. He is survived by his wife Mary Virginia Spears of Vivian, LA, his son Jeff Spears of Vivian, LA and one brother Doc Spears and wife Maxine of Amarillo, TX. He is also survived by his special friend Randy Slagle, brother-in-law Billy Luce and wife Karen of Whitehouse, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Walter Ward, Ned Wynn, Frank Carroll and Steve Roberson.
