Florence Dawsey Corkern, 92, a resident of the Bonner Creek community, died at 10 a.m. Saturday in her home. She was the widow of Leonard W. Corkern and a member of the Bonner Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Paula C. and Edward Duet of Franklinton; a son, Perry L. Corkern of Franklinton; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Alice Polk Dawsey; three brothers, Kenzie, John, and Rufus Dawsey; and three sisters, Ethel Corkern, Minnie Owens, and Lillie Thomas.
Visitation will be held tomorrow at Bonner Creek Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. The Rev. Clayton Kennedy will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
