January 1, 1892 - October 15, 1984
George C. Watson, Sr. of Franklinton died on Monday, October 15, at 1:00 a.m. in the St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. He was 92 years old, and a native and lifelong resident of Franklinton.
He was the husband of the late Maude M. Watson by first marriage and Cornelia Saucier Watson by second marriage, the father of Walter L. Watson of Franklinton, Mrs. Stanley (Betty) Pittman, Shirley Watson, and Mrs. Lamar (Maudine) Honea, all of Baton Rouge, Mrs. W. N. (Mona) Jones of Franklinton, and the late George C., Jr. and James W. Watson, and the brother of Gene Watson of Foxworth, Mississippi, Floyd Watson of Covington and Mrs. Lou Gill of Gulfport, Mississippi. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, in the Springhill Baptist Church, Franklinton, Rev. Jerry Kennedy officiating. Interment followed in the Magee-Springhill Cemetery. Arrangements by the Crain Funeral Home.
