Ralph Thornton Parker, 71, of Vivian, LA passed away on May 23, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home Chapel in Vivian officiated by Leonard Dean. Burial will follow at Vivian Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 pm on Saturday, May 26th at the funeral home.
Ralph was born January 5, 1947, to Archie and Audie Parker in Vivian, LA where he lived all of his life. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotion Engineers; he worked for KCS for 33 years. He was a hard worker who was happy when he was working on his farm and working cows. He never met a stranger, and was a friend to everyone. He enjoyed time with his family, especially sharing meals with them.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Sandra Thomas Parker of Vivian, his 4 children; Ralph Thornton Parker Jr. of Vivian, Charla Parker Prieto Esparza and husband Arturo of Bossier City, LA, Rhonda Michelle Colvin and husband Scott Edward of Garrison, TX, and Amanda Gail Parker of Oil City, LA, his 2 sisters and 3 brothers; Allen Darrell Parker of Vivian, Posey Jane Fenno and husband James of Bethany, OK, Linda Parker of Vivian, Kenneth Parker of Vivian, and Samuel W. Parker and wife Kay of Bivins, TX, his 10 grandchildren; Meaghan and Nathan Parker, Taylor Cook, Bryan and Kaylee Prieto Esparza, Christina, Kimberly, and Tiffany Colvin, Michael and Austin Terry, and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Arturo Prieto Esparza, Ralph Parker Jr., Taylor Cook, Scott Colvin, Bryan Prieto Esparza, and Austin Terry.
