A memorial service celebrating the life of Ms. Yvonne Wallace Elliott will be held Monday, March 20, 2017 at 11:30 AM at McGuire United Methodist Church, 2075 Arkansas Road, West Monroe, LA 71291. Rev. M. Stuart Sherman will officiate a private graveside service held prior to the memorial service.
Yvonne was born on November 13, 1929 in Monroe, Louisiana to Ivy and Lena Wallace. She adored her father who was a kind and gentle man. She loved growing up in West Monroe among her many relatives. Yvonne dedicated her life to raising her four children. She served as a Girl Scout Leader, Boy Scout Leader, church volunteer, school volunteer and homemaker. She used her talent for sewing not only to make clothes, but to create and make banners to celebrate holidays in her church. Her great joy was baking and delivering her famous chocolate cake to friends and loved ones.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Ivy Columbus Wallace and Lena Cloyd Wallace of West Monroe, LA. She is survived by her daughter Ivy Y. Elliott-Jones of Minden, LA, sons Kenneth C. Elliott, III of Bossier City, LA and William C. Elliott of Grand Prairie, TX, daughter Patricia Elliott Willcox of Bossier City, LA, sister Dolores W. Johnson of Monroe, LA, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
The family would like to especially thank all of the staff at Landmark Nursing Home for their loving kindness to us and to our mother during her brief stay. Your kindness and care for her will not be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to McGuire United Methodist Church, 2075 Arkansas Road, West Monroe, LA 71291.
