Liston J “Pat” Fremstad died Friday, October 30, 1981, at Hill Air Force Base Hospital in Ogden, Utah. He was a native of Burley, Idaho, and a resident of Riverdale, Utah. He was a contractor - negotiator at Hill Air Force Base and a retired US Army Major. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict.
Survived by his wife Grace Benton Fremstad of Riverdale, Utah; son Paul Liston Fremstad of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and a grandson.
He received the Distinguished Service Cross with Oak Leaf Cluster, Silver Star with two Oak Leaf Clusters; Legion of Merit Award, Soldier's Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star with six Oak Leaf Clusters, Purple Heart with seven Oak Leaf Clusters, Legion of Honor of France, Cross of the Crown of Italy, Military Cross of Great Britain, Croix de Guerre with Gold Star of France, Croix de Guerre of Belgium, Croix de Guerre of Luxembourg and many other honors and awards. He was the first post engineer at the Baton Rouge Engineer Depot following World War II. He was a graduate of Duke University, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and an All-American football player.
