October 1, 1890 - September 14, 1966
Ruston, La. - Edward T. Ballard, 86, retired Lion Oil Co. employe, died Wednesday afternoon at Longleaf Nursing Home here after a lengthy illness. Mr. Ballard was born at Black Rock, Ark. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and of the Masonic Lodge both of El Dorado. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. P. J. Ballard, North Little Rock; two brothers, M. T. Ballard, Shreveport, La., and Frank Ballard, Downsville, La.; three sisters, Mrs. Georgia Newell, Downsville, Mrs. Grace Bond, North Little Rock, and Mrs. Ruth Swain, North Little Rock. Funeral services were held Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Downsville Methodist Church, Downsville, La. The Rev Rev. Charles H. Glessen, and the Rev. Richard May conducted the services. Interment followed in the Downsville cemetery under the direction of Spears Funeral Home. (The El Dorado Times - September 15, 1966)
