February 22, 1902 - June 24, 1968
Mrs. Lucy Fields Horton, 66, 2123 Conway St., died Monday in a local hospital. Born Feb. 22, 1902 in Farmerville, La., she was the daughter of Sam and Katie Hill Fields. She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church and Golden Star Court No. 106, O.O.C. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lona Reed of El Dorado; one son, Alonzo Horton, Milwaukee, Wis.; one sister, Mrs. Marie Junior, Phoenix, Ariz.; five brothers, Elvin Fields of El Dorado, Albert Fields, San Diego, Calif., David Fields and Joseph Fields, both of Fordyce and Mirron Fields, Pine Bluff; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. H. G. Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Cemetery, Farmerville, La., under the direction of Sims Mortuary. (El Dorado Times - June 29, 1968)
