September 19, 1926 - September 6, 2017

Harold B. Barrett went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2017.
Harold was born in Minden, Louisiana on September 19, 1926. He finished high school in Minden, attended Louisiana Tech, and graduated as a marine engineer from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. During World War II Harold served in the Pacific as a marine cadet. His working career was spent with Gifford-Hill Company in Dallas, Texas.
Prior to their move to Westminster Oaks Retirement Community in Tallahassee, Harold and his wife of 69 years Allyn D. Barrett lived in Avon Park, Florida. There they enjoyed golf, traveling and donating time to Covenant Presbyterian Church and Meals on Wheels.
Harold is preceded in death by his best friend and wife Allyn, survived by daughter Judith and son-in-law Terry Ward of Tallahassee, Florida.
The final resting place will be the Barrett family plot in the Minden Cemetery, Minden Louisiana with the grave side service on September 19, 2017, his birthday at 10 O'clock in the morning. The family requests that memorials gifts be sent to the college that encapsulated the qualities that Harold held most dear; a strong work ethic, religious freedom and patriotism: College of the Ozarks, Post Office Box 17, Point Lookout, MO 65726.
