Funeral services for Morris Herren will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Chaplain Jerry Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow at Minden Cemetery in Minden. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Morris was born June 14, 1941 in Doyline, Louisiana and entered into rest August 30, 2017 in Minden, Louisiana. He was an avid member of the Minden Riding Club for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maggie and Owen Herren, son Mike Herren, and daughter, Karla Herren Hull.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ellen Shepherd Herren, daughters, Mia Herren Bigger and husband Jeff of Oklahoma, Chris Leppert and partner Brandi of Shreveport, son, Mike Leppert and wife Jill of Minden, sisters Alvern Dick and husband Bobby of Doyline, Neta McDowell of Doyline, brothers Owen Herren, James Herren, and Travis Herren and wife Sheila all of Doyline, grandchildren, Cody Herren (Gayla), Kaycee Herren McKnight, Hunter Leppert, Hutton Leppert, Lillie Johnston, and Jessica Holladay Lea, great-grandchildren, Colton Gage, Wesley Gage, Amber Gage, Cutter Herren, Holden McKnight, and Harper McKnight, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be O.H. Haynes III, Paul Armstrong, Ellis Dick, Freddy Cage, Jamie Herren, Charles Beck, Jeff Whitlock, and Norman Cosey.
The family extends special thanks to the staff of Town and Country Health and Rehab, Regional Hospice Care, and 2nd floor nursing staff at Minden Medical Center.
