Funeral services for Taylor “Puggy” Skains, 67, of Farmerville were held at 10 a.m. Fri., Dec. 14 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with Bro. Woody Reeder officiating. Burial was at Sardis Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville.
Mr. Skains, a retired carpenter, died December 12.
He was preceded in death by his father, John O. Skains; and brothers-in-law, Charles Johnson and Marvin Albritton.
Survivors include his mother, Orare Skains of Farmerville; wife, Maxine Skains of Farmerville; one son, John Skains and wife, Karen of Jackson, Miss.; two brothers: Bennie Skains and wife, Nan of Farmerville and Danny Skains and wife, Debbie of Farmerville; one sister, Ruth Albritton of Farmerville; two sisters- in-law: Lavenia Bearden and husband, Emmett of Farmerville and Ann Hatten and husband, Courtney of Farmerville; one granddaughter, Ashley Skains of Jackson, Miss. and numerous nieces & nephews.
Pallbearers were Stan Bearden, Curtis Pope, Junior Johnson, Dennis Lannan, Ricky Skains and Pete Lannan.
Honorary pallbearers: Roston Johnson, Boyce Pearson, Aubrey Ray, Emmett Bearden and Courtney Hatten.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
