From Louisiana Archives ~ Joiner, S L, Private Company C, 17th Louisiana Infantry. Enlisted September 29, 1861, Camp Moore, Louisiana. Rolls from September 30, 1861, to June 30, 1862, Present. Rolls from July, 1862, to October, 1862, Absent, sick in Hospital at Vicksburg. Present on Roll for January and February, 1863. Federal Rolls of Prisoners of War show him captured and paroled at Vicksburg, Mississippi, July 4, 1863.
