Billy Joe Wood, 61, of Franklinton, La., died July 22, 2004,at East Jefferson Medical Center in Metairie, La.
Services were held Saturday at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Homein Tylertown with the Rev. Harold Getty officiating. Burial wasin Thomas Cemetery.
Mr. Wood was born Feb. 15, 1943, in Walthall County. He wasthe son of the Elton Earl Wood and Elowest Thomas Wood of Tylertown.
He was en electrician and a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict,serving in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother; his wife Eddie Pearl Wood of Franklinton; three daughters and their husbands, JoAnn and TracyVince and Carol and Jason Thomas, all of Sandy Hook, and Sheliaand Paul Gay of Thomas, La.; three brothers; Rodney, Dewayne andSamuel Wood, all of Tylertown; three sisters, Janice Gerald ofFranklinton, Donice Branch of Columbia and Delores Dillon of Chalmette,La.; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Brian Wood, Lavell Gerald, Brandon Wood, Jason Branch, Benjamin Thomas and Bobby E. Thomas Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Thomas and Floyd Gay.
