Funeral services for Mr Jay Reese Crain, 83 of Rocky Branch, Louisiana will be held Monday, February 26, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Branch Baptist Church in Rocky Branch, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Rev Woodson McGuffee and Carey Butler. Interment will follow at Rocky Branch Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville.
Jay Crain was born March 5, 1934 in Sikes, Louisiana and went home to be with Jesus February 23, 2018 at Glenwood Hospital surrounded by his loving daughters. Jay was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved spending time outdoors. He loved fishing with his wife and daughters and brothers and sisters-in-law. He spent many hours watching his girls and grandkids playing softball and football. He loved his family and was a wonderful husband, dad and pawpaw. He will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lori Kilcrease, sons-in-law Wayne Kilcrease and Roy Burford, parents Jessie and Carrie Crain and brother Sedric Crain.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Mary Crain; daughters Millie Burford, Sarah Armstrong and husband Kenny, Patsy Kilcrease and husband Jerry; granddaughters Chrissie Wilkes, Shae Gooden and husband Robbie, Amy Stokes and husband Daniel; great-grandkids Noah, Gracie, Paytyn, Landen and Shy; brothers Lindon and wife Linda, Devain and wife Sybile, Jerry and wife Sue, Julian and wife Debbie, Sammy and wife Betty; sister-in-law, Johnnie Traxler and husband Terry; brother-in-law Dean Brown and wife Tommye and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Roger Shipp, David Crain, Timmy Crain, Kris Finkbeiner, Lee Traxler and Shannon Pilgreen.
Honorary Pallbearers are Wayne “Chicken” Donaldson and Mike Finkbeiner.
Visitation will be held on Sunday February 25, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the church.
