Mary Lou was born December 18, 1931 to Jay and Irene Phillips in Hillsboro, Oregon. She met the love of her life, Claret Dale Taylor, while attending Oregon State University. Married for 62 years, they traveled the world, living for a time in the Philippines during the Viet Nam War and later in Teheran, Iran before the fall of the Shah. A devoted military wife, she was used to packing up her home every two years and beginning a new journey. She had an adventurous spirit and generous heart.

Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband, Retired Colonel Claret Taylor, her sister, Joyce Grau and her husband Kent, and her three children: Rod, married to Ruth Taylor; daughter, Connie married to Jack Taylor; and youngest daughter, Lorrie Desautels. Her love extended to her many grandchildren, Marcus and Laura Taylor, Elaine Taylor, Christina and Kyle Zahn, Katherine and Ben Cook, Elizabeth Taylor, Nathan Taylor, Angela Taylor, Sarah Desautels, Grace Anne Desautels, Mary Rose Desautels, Drew Desautels, Cameron Desautels and great-grandchildren Paul and Clara Zahn, and Knox, Lawson and Scarlett Taylor.

Her death was sudden and unexpected. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing, singing and offering prayers to our Lord God and Savior, Jesus Christ. The family offers their special thank you to Fr. Rothell Price and Fr. Jason Foster.
