Graveside services for Mr Joseph Thomas Walker, age 96 of Ruston, are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Ruston with Reverend Leroy Skipper officiating. Services are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.
Mr Walker was born February 24, 1920 in Springfield, MO and died Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the War Veterans Home in Monroe, LA.
He served in the U S Army during World War II where he was wounded on the beaches of Normandy.
Mr Walker owned and operated a body shop in Kansas City, MO until retirement when he moved to Louisiana. Mr Walker loved traveling with his wife. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Mr Walker is survived by one son, James V Adkins and wife Sandra of Ruston, seven grandchildren and many grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Velma Adkins Walker; one daughter, Betty Jo Rose, two sons: Tommy Walker and Tommy Adkins; three brothers and one sister.
