Shreveport, Louisiana - Carlton Bert Brawley, Jr was born September 27, 1961 in Shreveport. He passed away June 9, 2015 in Austintown, Ohio where he had resided for the last 4 1/2 years.
Mr Brawley was a 1979 graduate of Southwood High School. He worked for General Motors in auto production for 31 years before retiring. He served in the US Army and the National Guard.
Mr Brawley is preceded in death by father, Carlton Bert Brawley, Sr. He is survived by mother, Gloria Bryan Brawley; daughter Jennifer Brawley Gillum and husband Stephen; son Andrew Carlton Brawley and wife Megyan; grandchildren, Charleigh and David Gillum; sister, Mary Brawley Colvard and husband Bob; one niece; four nephews; former wife and mother of children, Lisa Brown Spann; many other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Mr Brawley will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015, 11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors preceding the service at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
