September 29, 1963 - November 27, 2014
SHREVEPORT, LA - Carol Anne Ferguson, beloved daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, passed from our lives on November 29th, 2014. Born on September 29th, 1963, Carol grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she attended Holy Rosary School, St. Vincent Academy and later graduated from NSU School of Nursing to serve in the field she loved as a Pediatric Nurse at LSU Health Sciences Center.
Carol was a devoted, loving and selfless wife and mother. Always putting others' needs before her own, she found more joy in caring for others than she ever did in seeking her own enjoyment. As their children grew, her husband would often be surprised to find their friends being "taken in" by Carol, up to months at a time.
Carol was always dedicated to fitness and health. She loved running, and one of her greatest personal accomplishments was completing her first marathon. As generous in death as she was in life, she had previously decided to become an organ donor, so our family is comforted to know that many people will benefit from that generosity.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, L.B. "Dickie" Roach. She is survived by her mother, Pat Roach; husband, Michael Kelley Ferguson; her children, Katie Simpson and husband Jordan, Jessica Harrison, Rachel Ferguson, Ashley Ferguson, and Michael Ferguson; grandchildren, William Ferguson, Nathan Harrison, Andrew Simpson and Dylan Morrison; brothers, Richard Roach and wife Ellen, John Roach, brother-in-law Patric Ferguson and wife Tina; and a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, December 1st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral mass will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2nd at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, officiated by Father Charles Glorioso. Following the service, family and loved ones are invited to a celebration of Carol's life at Sammy's Smokehouse, located at 7110 Pines Road in Shreveport.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN or to the charity of the donor's choice.
