Woodie "Kenny" Godwin, a truck driver of Downsville, LA died from a vehicle accident on October 31, 2012. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday evening at Griffin Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Griffin Funeral Home in West Monroe. Burial will follow services at Kilpatricks Serenity Gardens.
Woodie was born on October 31, 1942 in Texas City, TX. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and was a member of the Eros Masonic Lodge
He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Godwin; mother and stepfather, Virginia and Pete Whitman, sister, Judy Stuckey, brother, Dennis Whitman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Deborah; daughters, Michelle and husband Paul Chambless; Melissa and husband Eric Bradshaw; Heather Godwin and son Kenny Godwin; grandkids, Hannah Schooley, Makenne and Karli Chambless, Kourtnie Kern, Carter, Jayce and Chandler Bradshaw, Emma Godwin, Matthew Thomas, Tanner and Evan Sepulvado, Jarrett Lujan; great-grandson, Daylon Schooley; sister, Pat Scallion and husband Troy; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Steve Tippen, Tyler Tippen, Jacob McLeod, Bobby Roberts, Eric Knox, Greg Knox, Matthew Thomas, Carter Bradshaw
Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Porter and Dunnie McLeod
