Funeral Services for Mr. Gerald Paul Hanemann, 70, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 10, 2014 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Adrian Fischer officiating.

Mr. Hanemann was born on May 25, 1943 in New Orleans, LA and passed away on April 7, 2014. He was an excellent marksman and enjoyed firearms, shooting and instructing. He helped develop the shooting range at Camp Villery and was also a Firearms Instructor at LSU. Gerald retired from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office and G B Cooley. He also worked for the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office. Gerald is preceded in death by his son, Sean Keith Hanemann; his parents, Adolph Henry Hanemann and Gertrude Claire Lacey Hanemann; and his brothers, Hank and Donald Hanemann.

Survivors include his son, Jason Hanemann and wife, Johnette; daughter, Lacey Hanemann; brother, Danny Hanemann; sister, Linda Hanemann McPherson; six grandchildren, Lauren, Emma, Andrew, Madison, Jean-Marc and Jean-Marie Hanemann; former spouse, Susan Hanemann Tingle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jean-Marc Hanemann, John Peters, Todd Cummings, Sam Tingle and Deputies of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until Service time on Thursday at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hosptial or to the American Liver Foundation.
