MANSFIELD, LA - Services for Mr. Alva Nash will be held Tuesday, 10 AM, August 24, 2010 at Rose Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield, LA. Officiating the service will be Pastor Toby Shaw of the First Community Baptist Church of Mansfield. Internment will follow at the Grand Cane Cemetery in Grand Cane, LA. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Monday evening, August 23rd from 6-9 PM.

Mr. Nash was born in Leesville, February 23, 1928 to Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Nash, and passed away August 21, 2010 in Mansfield, LA.

Mr. Nash was owner of Nash's Auto Glass and Body Shop in Mansfield, and was also a past State Commander of the VFW of LA. He also served as a member of the Honor Guard for the 12th District, and was a member of VFW Post 4586 of Mansfield. Mr. Nash served his country honorably and was Honorably Discharged from the US Navy.

Mr. Alva Nash was preceded in death by his parents, Meadie and Eddie Nash; and his wife, Martha Sue Pool Nash. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, James Nash and his wife Mandi of Mansfield, LA; Jerry Nash and his wife Karen of Mansfield, LA; and Timothy Nash and his wife Karen of Mansfield, LA; his brothers, Neil Nash of Leesville, LA and Johnny L. Nash and his wife Avis also of Leesville, LA; grandchildren, Chris Nash and wife Kim, Jason Nash and wife Amber, Jerad Nash, Lance Guenard, Trey Guenard and wife Alisha, Kara Hooper, Allison Hooper, Justin Nash, Caitlyn Dowling, Macey Nash and Kirsten Nash; great-grandchildren Rylee, Cooper, Tanner, Austin, Bryant and Scarlett.

Serving Mr. Nash as pallbearers will be the VFW Honor Guard 12th District and Honorary Pallbearers will be fellow members of VFW Post 4586 of Mansfield.
