BOSSIER CITY, LA - Ralph Tatum Tyler, 67, entered the gates of Heaven Tuesday, February 23, 2010 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. The celebration of his life will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 at his home church, Cypress Baptist. Officiating will be Brother John Fream pastor of the church, assisted by Brother Billy Pierce. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA.

Ralph was a man who based his life on faith, family, and friends. The greatest gift he left his family was the assurance that he had a personal relationship with Jesus.

Ralph was born January 5, 1943 in Converse, LA to R.J. and Thelma Johnson Tyler. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of over 40 years, Gail Blackburn Tyler. His greatest pride and joy were his two sons, Mark Audley Tyler of Benton and Matthew Tatum Tyler. One sweet daughter-in-law Suzanne Dyson Tyler, wife of Matt, who live in Ruston, and two adored grandchildren who knew him as Papaw-Russell Jacob Tyler and Landry Grace Tyler. One Faithful sister Martha Ann Tyler of Benton.

Ralph retired after teaching 33 years at Bossier High School. He was a well known cattleman in the Benton area and spent his holidays frying turkeys for the community. He will always be remembered for his fun-loving spirit.

Honoring Ralph as pallbearers will be Mike McConathy, Steve Gaspard, Wayne Earp, Lemuel Grigsby, Richey Jackson, Billy Don McHalffey, Don Bernard and Pete Fausto.

The family would like to thank Dr. Banda, Dr. Rimmer, Dr. Warren, Russ Robinson, and the Weaver family for their caring and compassion.
