Lt Barnett, who was assigned to the Louisiana Army National Guard, 1st Battalion, 156th Armor Regiment, 256th Brigade Combat Team, was on patrol on the outskirts of Baghdad in the early morning hours of Dec 23 when he was killed by a roadside bomb. Christopher was due for promotion in May 2005, but was promoted posthumously to first lieutenant Dec 25, 2004.
