He enlisted in January 1951 (Service #54004955). After training, he arrived in the Republic of Korea on August 31, 1951, and joined in the fighting in September 1951. On October 11, 1951, he was reported as Missing In Action. Soon after, it was discovered he was killed by an explosion on October 10, 1951, while fighting to retake "Line Jamestown" in North Korea.
