AUSTIN, TX - Graveside services for Lillie Mae Russell Burt will be held at Cottage Grove Cemetery near Benton, LA on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Austin Smith presiding. Visitation will be Friday, January 28, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. at Rose-Neath Bossier.Lillie was born in Overton, TX September 28, 1911 to Walter B. and Martha Allred Russell and died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 of complications from a fall. She was a resident of Benton and Plain Dealing most of her life, and had lived in Austin, TX for the last nine years. As a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother, Lillie was blessed with exceptional health for over 99 years. She spent much of her time gardening and enjoyed growing beautiful vegetables and flowers until age 90. She was Baptist.She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Willie T. Burt, two brothers, one sister, a grandson and a great grandson. Survivors include three daughters, Betty Higdon and Nellie Higdon Abresch and husband, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Robert J. Abresch, all of Austin, TX and Bonnie Solomon and husband, Harry of Bossier City, one sister, Samantha Shockley of Arizona, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
