BENTON, LA – Our beloved Beth went home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Services to celebrate her life will be held at Cypress Baptist Church, Saturday, May 3, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Billy Pierce. Interment will follow in Red River Baptist Church Cemetery, Benton, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Beth was born on July 12, 1934, in Shreveport, LA to parents, Laster and Aline (Merritt) Bundy. She fell in love and married Hilmon Mitchell on November 23, 1956. In the years that followed, Beth raised a family, taught Sunday school at Cypress Baptist Church, and continued to love her church, family and friends.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents and survived by her husband, Hilmon Mitchell; son, Hilmon "Ray" Mitchell, Jr. and wife Donna; daughter, Kim Mitchell Hauser and husband Robert; sister, Kathryn Teague and husband Terry; brother, John "Tuttie" Bundy and wife Deanna; grandchildren, Rachel Mitchell, Leigh Ann, Lacey, and Logan Hauser; and several very special nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are John Bundy, Price Bundy, Trent Teague, Logan Hauser, Garrison Bundy, and Stacey Sweet. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Duckworth, Bobby Edmiston, Henry Cantrell, Jim Sweet, and Vol Dooley, Jr.
