Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Laverne Bohannon Baldwin, age 81, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, Louisiana, with Bro. John Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery, Springhill, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm and 9:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Bailey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Baldwin was born on March 7, 1933 to William Franklin and Lena Pamelia Foster Bohannon, in Selma, LA and passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 in Shreveport, LA. She retired from Cullen City Hall with seven years of service. After she graduated from Springhill High School, class of 1952, she went to a business college in Shreveport in 1953 and went to work for International Paper Company for five years. She then chose to stay home and raise her two children, Barbara and James. She attended Vo-Tech in Minden and worked for Springhill City Hall and Wally Hull Insurance Company, retiring April 14, 1995. She continued to work part-time through 2005 for the Town of Cullen. She enjoyed meeting friends at the Council on Aging and loved to work in her yard. Her life and character will be remembered by her friends and relatives for many years. She was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her son, James Baldwin of Longview, TX; daughter, Barbara McLawchlin of Monroe, La; grandchildren, Brian McLawchlin, Kristi Davis and Briana Baldwin; great-grandchildren, Cole, Ben and Caleb; two brothers, Don Bohannon and wife, JoAnn of Springhill, La, and Harold Bohannon and wife, Carolyn of Keithville, La.

Pallbearers will be PeeWee Dubberly, Steve Dubberly, Troy Strother, Billy Smith, Lannie Moore, and Don Tyson.
