Funeral services for Mrs. Jimmie Sue Nix Murph Moreland, age 82, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Springhill United Methodist Church, Springhill, LA with Rev. William "Bill" McClain officiating. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time, Monday, at the Springhill United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Moreland was born September 12, 1932 in Stamps, AR to Otha and Viola G. Knott Nix. Jimmie Sue passed into the arms of God on Thursday, March 12, 2015. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her son, Don Murph; her first husband, Dee Murph, Jr. and her much loved second husband, Sidney Seabourne Moreland, III.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Robichaux of Ruston, LA; granddaughters, Heather Robichaux of Mandeville, LA and Cassie Robichaux of Boston, Mass.; step-granddaughter, Rachel Gemma and step-great-grandson, Julien Gemma, both of Bossier City, LA. She is also survived by so many friends who will miss her smile and sweetness.

Her life was filled with many activities during her years at Springhill High School. She was known as a "heck of a basketball player", editor of the newspaper and chosen "most polite". What will stand out the most is her love of God, the Springhill United Methodist Church, the City of Springhill, the Alumni Association and bowling. Her family will remember her foremost for her faith and love of God. We know that the brightness of her love will shine forever.

Her family is mourning today but are comforted that she is eternally at home. She will live in our lives forever, tucked away in our hearts. Her family wishes to thank the entire staff of Willow Ridge Nursing Home for their love, kindness and care, as well as her sitter, Karen Landry

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Hilburn, Ray Huddleston, Richard Johnson, H. C. Merritt, Sammy Stanford and Mike Whitlow. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Bankhead, Charlie Crumpler, Griff Griffin, Carroll Breaux, Johnny Herrington, John Jackson, Richard Baker, Buddy Simmons, and Kenny Irwin.
