Obituary:
Funeral services for Phong Van Pham, 39, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 8, 2014, at North Monroe Baptist Church East Worship Center with Rev. Warren Eckhardt, Mr. Kenneth Halley, and Dr. Bill Dye officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Rayville, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Pham passed away Thursday, February 06, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his family. He began training in martial arts at the age of 14. He met the love of his life at a Taekwondo testing in 1994. They married in 1997 and were blessed with Kaleigh, his baby girl, in 1998. Together as a family they opened ACTION Martial Arts. Phong lived his life as he taught his students: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Indomitable Spirit, Self-Control, and Victory. He was a true example of the way black belt should live. His greatest loves were God, family, TKD, and the Saints.
In 2012, Phong accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized. The life group he joined at North Monroe Baptist Church quickly became family to him. His Scott Equipment family supported him and his family through the toughest fight he ever faced. Everyone Phong ever met in life left a better person for knowing him because to know Phong was to love him.
He would want us to share his favorite scripture Ephesians 6:10. Finally my brothers be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
Mr. Pham was preceded in death by his dad, Hoang Vo; and grandfather, Toan Van Pham.
Survivors include his wife, Leanne Pham; daughter, Kaleigh Pham; mother, Diane Pham; mother-in-love and father-in-love, Gerald and Pat Monnin; grandma, Chau Van Bui; brother, Loan Vo; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bo and Lindsey Monnin; nephews, Trey and Caden Monnin, and Aiden Vo; nieces, Gracyn and Emersyn Monnin; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his loving pet, Ralphie.
Pallbearers will be Charles Sewell, John Drew, Tim Stephens, Willie Hill, Jason Herrington, and Tony Splawn. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Williams, Aaron Cody, Lynn Henderson, Sara Anunciation, Lance Matthews, Alex Azar, Benny Broadway, Marshal Fulgium, and Scott Teer.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to Donnie, Aaron, Lynn, Brandi, Lisa, Dr. Stephenie Long, Lori and Lance Matthews, who walked with them through their darkest days.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Trust Bank Account Team Pham to offset medical expenses and Kaleigh's
