Graveside services for Mr. L. M. "Dude" Braley, 81, of Shongaloo, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 at Old Sarepta Cemetery with Dr. Larry M. Braley and Chaplin Monroe Copeland officiating and Masonic graveside rites. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill.

Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Mr. Braley was born Nov. 3, 1925 in Sarepta to Frank James and Lola Ann Parkerson Braley and died Oct. 30, 2007 in Shongaloo. He was a resident of Shongaloo and a former resident of Hamlin, Texas. Mr. Braley was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church, was a World War II US Marine veteran, was a member of the Shongaloo Masonic Lodge #352 F & AM and retired from Sun Oil Co. after 32 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Glenda Jean and Betty Claire; two sisters; and one brother.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret M. Braley of Shongaloo; one daughter, Teresa B. Turner and husband Steven W. from Pearland, Texas; two sons, Larry M. Braley and wife Janet of Cumming, Ga. and Jerry W. Braley of Sarepta; six grandchildren, Cynthia Rouse and husband Mike, Cristi Kitchens and husband Kevin, Leeland Braley, Stewart Braley and wife Julie, Angela Collins and husband Heith and Danny Wayne Livingston; eight great-grandchildren, Kayla, Katie, Gilbert, Maggie, Sarah, Madeline, John, Claire; and a host of nieces and nephews.
