March 17, 1931 - January 24, 2015
Graveside services for Mr. Joe Bob Black, age 83, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Old Sarepta Cemetery, Sarepta, LA, with Rev. Todd Pickard officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Black was born on March 17, 1931 to Charlie James and EuniceWilean Bray Black in Sawyer, OK and passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at his home in Sarepta. He was a faithful member of the Old Sarepta Missionary Baptist Church; he served in the U. S. Air Force from 1949 to 1953 as a radio operator on the B52 airplanes during the Korean Conflict and was retired from International Paper after 26 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances Wiley Black; daughter, Pamela Black Dorsey; three grandchildren, Allison Maxwell, Trey Farley and wife, Kristie and Karah Black all of Sarepta, LA; three great- grandchildren, Madelyn Farley, Avery Farley and Meagan Maxwell.
Mr. Black was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregory Joe Black and granddaughter, Angela Hanson.
Pallbearers will be Myron Herrick, Ricky Ketchum, Billy Odom, Jimmy Thompson, Bob Seiple and Gene Hanson.
