A resident of Franklinton, she died at noon Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, at Riverside Medical Center, Franklinton. She was 89 and a native of Mount Hermon. Visiting at Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday. Religious services at the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Jerry Barlow. Burial in Ellis Cemetery . Survived by a son, Edward Lessard, Dallas; a daughter, Judy Lessard Brown, Bossier City; five stepgrandchildren,Julian Bankston, Norris, Tenn., Paul Bankston, New Orleans, Victor Bankston, Auburn, Ala., Roy V. Bankston Jr., Winston-Salem, N.C., and William Lessard, New York City; a brother, George Murray Tate, Mount Hermon; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and six stepgrandchildren. Preceded in death by first husband, Wilfred Edward Lessard; and second husband, Roy V. Bankston Sr. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Franklinton
