Sarepta, LA - Funeral services for Mr. Mickey J. Boyett, age 56, will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 2, 2014, at the New Sarepta Baptist Church in Sarepta, with Rev. Tim Everett and Rev. Marty Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Old Sarepta Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.

Mr. Boyett was born on October 8, 1957 to John Tinsley Boyett, Jr., and Carolyn Faye Dew Boyett in Shreveport, LA and passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014 in Sarepta. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was a lifelong resident of Sarepta. Mickey's career of 39 years in the oilfield industry was his passion. For the last 11 years he worked for Baker Oil Tools and loved his oilfield family. He was an avid outdoorsman, which included deer hunting, fishing, gardening, and yard work.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sandra Moore Boyett; two sons, Charles Loftin Boyett and wife LaCousta of Sarepta, LA, Casey James Boyett of St. Louis, MO; granddaughter, Savannah Faye; sister, Tracie B. Ketchum and husband Rodney of Sarepta, LA; two brothers, John Russell Boyett and wife Brenda of Shreveport, LA, and Grant Boyett and wife Maria of Sarepta, LA; uncles, Jerry Dew of Magnolia, AR, J. R. Boyett and wife "Sis" of Cotton Valley, LA; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Boyett was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Marty McCurry, Grant Boyett, Mike Holtzclaw, Hal Boggs, Robert "Porkchop" Wright, Daniel Dotson, D. J. Bowers and Jeff Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Boyett, Mike Ruark, Derrell Saui, Mike Smith, and Mikie Ray Williams.
