Funeral services for Mr. Harold Durward Tripp, age 82, will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Kings Corner Assembly of God, Sarepta, LA, with Bro. Doug Fulenwider and Bro. James Lowe officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
April 21, 1933 - August 25, 2015

Mr. Tripp, a native and lifelong resident of this area was born on April 21, 1933 to George Washington and Lily Pauline Morgan Tripp in Springhill and passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 in Bossier City, LA. He was a faithful member of Kings Corner Assembly of God Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, treasurer, and sang bass in the men's quartet. He was retired machinist for International Paper Company with over 25 years of service and was the owner of Tripp Machine Works for over 20 years. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a proud member of the Springhill Masonic Lodge #348 FandAM. He served as president of the board and recording secretary at Carter Federal Credit Union and also treasurer of the labor union. Mr. Tripp enjoyed yard work, gardening, art painting, computer surfing, and trips with family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and one who loved helping others.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Wise Tripp; son, Richard Darnell Tripp of Springhill; three grandchildren, Eric Cottrell and wife, Carmen, Ben Martin, Jill Louise Clifton and husband, Derek; step-grandchildren, Gregg McAbee and Sharon Endres; two great-grandchildren, Jillian and Colbie; step great-granddaughter, Katie Doughtery; son-in-law, Jack McAbee of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Alouwe Smith of Sarepta; mother-in-law, Ruby Wise of Springhill; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Tripp was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen McAbee; brothers, Carnel Tripp, Hurley Tripp; sisters, Ivis Tripp, Mozelle Smith, Ovadee Slack; infant son, Nathan Tripp; and niece, Mary Ann Dinkins.

Pallbearers will be Greg Taylor, Ben Martin, Bryan Davis, Stephen Haehn, Morgan Smith, and Nathan Timmons.
