Springhill, Louisiana - Funeral services for Mrs Betty Montgomery Darst, age 84, will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, November 5, 2012, in the First Baptist Church of Springhill, Louisiana with Rev Ronald Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery, Springhill, Louisiana under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.Visitation will be held Sunday, November 04, 2012 beginning at 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Mrs Darst was born September 5, 1928 to Fowler and Carrie Strong Montgomery in Springhill, Louisiana and passed away November 1, 2012 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a resident of Springhill, a member of First Baptist Church and a homemaker. Mrs Darst was a wonderful cook and enjoyed gardening. She loved her family and grandkids very much. She is survived by sons, Rickey Darst of Springhill, Louisiana, Mark Darst of Springhill, Louisiana, Todd Darst of Prairieville, Louisiana; special nephew, Ronnie Darst of Springhill, Louisiana; grandchildren, Natalie McLemore and spouse, William of Haughton, Louisiana, Leslie Byrne of Shreveport, Louisiana, David Darst of Burleson, Texas, Cody Darst of Homer, Louisiana; step-granddaughter Stacey Hinds of Benton, Louisiana; sister Twila Slack of Springhill, Louisiana; great-niece, Gina Greenwood of Monroe, Louisiana; great-nephew, Chad Darst of Springhill, Louisiana;great-grandsons, Zacharey Rushing of Haughton, Louisiana, Braden Wallace of Shreveport, Louisiana, Brett Leckie of Haughton, LA, Preston Darst of Burleson, TX; two great great grandsons, Landon Rushing of Haughton, Louisiana, Corbin Lee Darst of Springhill, Louisiana; great great-nephew, Cayden Darst of Springhill, Louisiana; great great nieces, Sophia Greenwood of Monroe, Louisiana, Lily Greenwood of Monroe, Louisiana; other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Mrs Darst was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willis "Ed" Edward Darst, brother, Roy Montgomery, brother, Earl Montgomery and sister, Maurine Dyer. Pallbearers will be David Darst, Cody Darst, Braden Wallace, Chad Darst, William McLemore and Monty Dyer. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Charles Strong.
