Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy W. Lawrence, age 73, will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, July 28, 2014, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA with Bro. Todd Pickard officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Lawrence was born on May 5, 1941 to Keet and Burnell Hatch Lawrence in Springhill, LA and passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014 in Sarepta, LA. He was a member of Old Sarepta Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired principal and coach. He was a loving father and grandfather to whom he was better known as "Cool Dude". He was also, an avid sports fan, especially LSU.

He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne L. Carraway and husband, Andy; son, Jason Lawrence and wife, Jaymi; three grandchildren, Andrew Carraway, Camron Carraway, Madalyn Lawrence; two brothers, Bobby Lawrence and wife, Dianne, Jackie Lawrence and wife, Pam; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lawrence was preceded in death by parents.

Pallbearers will be Steve Cone, Kenneth Cone, Russ White, David Nokes, Mac Nokes, Jeremy Allen, Ronnie Campbell, and Richard Canterbury.
